Christmas 2009 was a success in every way! We were able to spend time with great family and friends, eat lots of yummy food (PW Cinnamon Rolls! YUM!), and Cruz ended up opening so many gifts that we are going to need to start planning our house expansion project ASAP! But most importantly we were reminded of the reason that we celebrate this time each year. We are surrounded by the Lord's blessings and are so grateful that he lives in each of us and guides our family everyday!
I feel so lucky that we have so many great friends and family that we get invited to so many Christmas activities this month. We love spending time with such amazing people, HOWEVER, I am feeling a little overwhelmed and exhausted at this point in the month from the running around like a chicken with my head cut off! I really have to remind myself everyday to slow down and enjoy each moment as they come throughout the holidays. I think I should make a suggestion to whomever it is that sets our country's annual calendar that Christmas parties should be spread out all thru December and in to January (just for some people's sanity!) Anyhow, here are some photos of some of our Christmas gatherings thus far. Cruz is really getting into the spirit of things (by the "spirit" i really mean opening gifts)! He asks to open all of the ones under our tree regardless if they are for him or not!
Cruz and Rife playing Wii Tennis at Gammy and Papa's house.
Sporting our new Ninja suit!
Tickle fight with cousin Rife.
Working puzzles with Rife and Grandmother.
Even Uncle Marshall joined in the fun!
Creative Kids Christmas Party.
Just waking from his nap to realize that we were having a party!!! Yippee!
Cruz and Brodie eating lots of sugary treats! yum!
Opening a gift from Secret Santa Jack!
The "boys club"! All of Cruz's posse'!
So much fun!
I am looking forward to this next week relaxing with our families! And then off to Vegas for New Years! Ahhh, Palazzo Spa, here I come!!! Mommy needs a break!!!!!!
So Cruz and I were able to visit Santa at the fire station over the weekend! I wasn't quite sure if he'd love it or hate it this year. Garrett and I have been telling him all about Santa for the last few weeks and the only thing he has completely grasped is that Santa is bringing him a Choo Choo Track! Every time we see a photo or a tv show with Santa on it, he will say "Ho, Ho, Ho Merry Christmas Choo Choo Track! It is so funny!
Mr. and Mrs. Clause were a total hit! He was in awe from the moment he sat in Santa's lap!
Hailey, on the other hand, did not care for the whole thing! She just wanted her candy cane and nothing more!!! She takes after her Aunt Kristi! "Just give me the candy, people!"
Afterwards, the kids played on "Chief's" fire truck and got to see the guys gear up and head out for a run! What an awesome afternoon!!!
Bring on the soccer mom shirts, scraped up knees, and pants that will never stay clean!!!
We're having another boy!!!!!!! Garrett and I had our 20 week ultrasound today and learned that our new addition will be a mini version of Cruz! I cannot wait to see them together for the first time! How blessed our lives are that we're able to have two healthy sons!
Looks like the only thing I need to register for is band-aides and oxyclean!
So, I'm just figuring out how to get my videos on here. Thank you Aunt Amy for all the help!!! In honor of you, I'm posting you're bday video first! This was the 3rd take and by now Cruz was a little distracted by the football game playing on tv!
What an amazing weekend! The Christmas party season has officially begun. The tree is up and gifts are wrapped! We've been practicing our Christmas carols and planning our baking regimen for the holiday season! Basically when i say "we," I really mean me! This is my favorite time of year!
I took a photography class yesterday at the OKC Arts Museum to learn all the functions and settings for my new Nikon and I'm really proud of some of things I'm learning how to do. Hopefully, my skills will continue to improve so that i can take cool shots of my kiddos! Here are a few shots that I took of the Dale Chihuly exhibit which displays a small collection of his hand blown glass pieces.
I'm just a regular chick trying to be the best mom, wife, friend, aunt, sister, employee and neighbor that I can be! My life is full of excitement right now and I'm trying to slow down and enjoy every single moment of it!!! I've been married to my high school sweetheart for six years and we have been truly blessed with two of the most precious little boys I know! We are so fortunate that God is present in our lives everyday and has provided us with far more than we could have ever imagined!
Thanks for visiting our family's little story book!
