Here Comes Peter Cotton Tail!

We had a wonderful Easter weekend!  The boys both had Easter parties at school on Friday which included egg hunts, games, dancing, singing, and lots of sugary treats!

We spent Sunday morning celebrating our savior Jesus at church.  Cruz was so excited to take suckers to his Sunday School class!

Lunch was spent with the Campbells  and dinner with the Blackburns!  We had so much fun spending time with our families.  We are truly blessed to be surrounded by a family that loves us and our boys so much!

Moments that take your breath away!

If I could freeze time, I'd want to be right here staring at these two!

The Dude turns 4!

From diapers, goldfish crackers, slobbery shirts, and cha chas.

To "faster" shoes, superman toys, t-ball gloves, pizza pockets, and underwhirls.

Cruz turned 4 yesterday!  Everyday, he amazes me with the things he says and does.  He is smarter than I'd like to admit (he can work my new ipad better than I can)!  Besides just being an awnery 4 year old boy, he truly is the sweetest lovable kid!  Takes Mama's breath away every time he says, "I love you."

Funny story:  I had originally planned on having a big circus themed party with clowns, cotton candy, the whole nine yards.  When I asked Cruz what he thought, his exact response was "Mom, can we just get a spiderman cake and go to the park?"  Well alrighty!  How can you argue with that?  Why can't we all have the mind of a 4 year old and Keep It Simple Silly???

You gotta love the Oklahoma wind!

Mommy brought up some cupcakes during snack time and the kids sang happy birthday to him.  So cute!

One Party Down...

We had planned on just having one party for both boys' birthdays (since they are 6 days apart), however, we thought little Jett should at least get to have his first birthday all to himself!  For goodness sake, Cruz has had 3 all by himself!  So this year we are doing two seperate parties in one week!!!  (Whoa! This mama is going to be wiped out next week!)

Jett's construction themed party was this past Tuesday and we had lots of friends and family over to help the little guy celebrate!

Its my party and I'll have a Hi-C if I want to!
 Chowing on some pizza
 Opening presents
O yea, what is that big green thing?
Loving all his new cars and trucks
Being thoughtful and reading each card
Daddy blew up his new ball pit
And the big kids LOVED it!
Gammy and Nana showing J all the features on his new ride!
 Scary Larry!
Sweet cousin Reagan was helping too!
And so were the big kids!  Lets see how fast we can open this one!
And what am I supposed to do with that?
 HELP Mommy!

The Baby is One!

Today is Jett's first birthday!  I know that I say this all the time but, HOLY COW, where does the time go?  I feel like it was yesterday that I was standing in the laundry room grabbing my purse to head to work, when my water broke!  Baby J kicked my bootie with painful contractions all the way to Lakeside Womens Hospital in 8:00 morning traffic!:)  Jett has been such a blessing from God to Garrett and I this year.  God sure knows exactly when to send little angels into our lives to remind us how lucky we are, even during the hard times!  Jett has been our angel this year and has reminded us every day to be grateful for our blessings and to take time to love one another every single day!

Happy Birthday Sweet Baby!

Aunt Amy took this sweet picture of him a few weeks ago!  Isn't she talented?

And I took these on his actual birthday.  It was 7 in the morning and we were the only ones awake but I thought he looked so darn cute in his ONE onesie so I had to have some pics!!!

Runner

A term I would have never used to describe myself 3 months ago!  Erin motivated me in January to start running with her in hopes that we would run the OKC Memorial half marathon together.  In January, I was thinking, "there is no way I will be able to run 3 miles much less 13!"  I stuck with our training schedule, however, and began to find myself looking forward to hitting my next milestone run!  It has kind of become addictive.  I began in hopes of taking off the last bit of baby weight (if you can even call it that after 9 months:)) and to jump myself into bikini season without feeling horrible about myself!  I never realized that I would aquire a competitive spirit with running.

Anyhow, our first "official" run was this last Sunday for the Red Bud Classic 10K (which is 6 miles).  It was a beautiful sunny day with a light breeze great for running!  I finished in 1:20 and am so pumped to be able to add runner to my resume!  Garrett and Cruz were even there to cheer me across the finish line!  I loved every minute of it!  Now I'm totally excited about upping my training and gearing up for the OKC Memorial on May 1st!

Here we are before the race

Garrett's Birthday Get Away!

Garrett has always been a "fly by the seat of your pants" kind of guy.  I think thats what drew me to him when we met because he is totally opposite of me!  I plan everything months in advance and he makes decisions 2 minutes before they become effective!  Sometime it drives me nuts and other times I wish I was more like him!

Anyhow, he decided about 10 days before his birthday that he wanted to go to Vegas.

And so we did!

This was how the dude sent us off the night before!  So sweet!
The first night we went to see the new Elvis Cirque show which was awesome!
And G won a little green!

The second night was Garrett's actual birthday so we went and had an amazing dinner at Carnevino.  Garrett ordered us a bone-in ribeye that had been dry aged for 60 days.  Holy cow!  It was delicious!
This is the bone our steak was attached to.  The waiter came and carved it right in front of us and Garrett just had to have a picture with it!  I thought he might start knawing on it in the middle of the restuarant like a puppy or something!
And this is what you look like after you've eaten a steak that size!:)
Then we met up with the Fleeners and their band, (who were in town for the ACMA's) and partied our booties off at studio 54.  Good times!  Studio 54 is where Garrett and I spent New Years Eve in 2003 the night we got engaged in Vegas!
And the last day, we just shopped and layed by the pool!  I got to have my first H&M experience and I was NOT disappointed!!!

Overall, it was a whirwind of a trip but we had a blast getting some much needed R&R!
