Parent Teacher Conference Take 1

I had my very first parent teacher conference with Cruz's teacher, Ms. Ethel, yesterday.  I CANNOT believe that I am already attending these!  Even though I know Cruz is a really good kid, lets be honest, he is a 4 year old rowdy boy who likes to bounce off the walls every once in awhile like the rest of them!  Needless to say, I was worried about what his very conservative and old-school teacher might have to share with me.

She gave me his report card which showed very high remarks for knowing his letters, numbers, matching skills, colors, shapes, etc.  She told me that Cruz is a pleasure to have in class and that he is a great student!  He is friendly with all of the kids in his class and is easy to get along with.  He does like to be rowdy and loud but when told to bring it down a notch, he listens and minds very well!  WHEW!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm one proud mama!!!

Now if I can only get through 27 more of these!  :(

Fall Break

Sometimes its really nice to be married to the boss!

I was able to take off last Thursday and Friday to spend Fall Break with the boys!  We went to the zoo on Thursday and then we played and cleaned out closets on Friday! (woo hoo!)  I loved getting to spend two whole days with them!  They are just growing up so fast and developing very different and adorable personalities!  Cruz just amazes me at how smart and articulate he has become in the last few months and Jett cracks me up with his awnry little smirk and no fear attitude!!!  These two little miracles mean the world to me!  I can't even remember what life was like before???

These two punkin's were so tired after almost 4 hours at the zoo.  They were asleep before we got out of the parking lot!!!

Take us to the Pumpkin Patch!

We joined the Blackburns last night at TG Farms in Tri-City for some Pumpkin Patch fun!!!

I love group shot with the kids!  It is a challenge to just get them to sit still for 5 seconds much less all smile and look at the camera at the same time!  Aunt Amy and Uncle Ryan got them all set up and made sure everyone had a pumpkin to hold.

 Wait for it!
 Wait for it!
 Wait for it!
And voila!  Look at those precious faces!

Meet Hank!

So my hubby finally caved and let us get a dog!  I have been looking for weeks for the perfect puppy/dog.  We went back and forth on whether to get a puppy from a breeder or to adopt a puppy from a shelter/pound.  I have been to every pound and shelter in the metro multiple times over the past few weeks and, trust me, I wanted to take them all home with me!  It was so hard!  Anyhow, after lots of searching, we found Hank!  He was picked up by OKC Animal Welfare last week and has been at the pound ever since.  We don't really know what breed his is but the vet who checked him out thinks he has boxer, terrier, and pit in him.  Basically, he's a mutt!  But he's a super sweet mutt and we are so excited to have him join our family.  He came home with us last night and after a few nervous pees on the floor he loosened up and started playing with us!  He snuggled all night right next to Cruz and I didn't hear a peep out of him all night!  He's staying in our backyard enjoying the beautiful weather today while we're at work so my fingers are crossed that I don't go home later to find my flower bed dug up and patio furniture chewed on!  O how I love puppies! :)

BOOMER SOONER!

Another OU/TX weekend is in the books!  We had an amazing weekend with fabulous friends and the Sooners beat Texas 55 to 17!

We got into Dallas about 4:30 on Friday and headed straight to our hotel to meet up with the Beaty's for happy hour.  Then our annual Uncle Julios dinner put us straight into a food coma.  Needless to say everyone was in bed by 11!  Yes, we're getting old!

Beaty (our activities coordinator for the weekend), made us leave the hotel on Saturday at 7:45am!  It gave us plenty of time to get to the Cotton Bowl, grab a few corndogs and beers, and play some mid-way games before the Sooners 11:00 kick off!

The game was so fun!  The OU fans were going nuts the whole time and by half time the TX side was pretty sparse!

The boys and their traditional "someone takes their shirt off everytime we score" picture!  Notice the two guys next to them who got conned into joining the fun!  HA!  That's what happens when OU scores more than 14 points!
More games and fun after the game!

After playing all day at the fair, we made our way back to Uncle Julios for mexican dinner #2!  (Yes, we absolutely love this place and usually only get to eat their once or twice a year so we must pack it all in!)  And once again we were out by 11!

Sunday morning we were up and ready to head home!  We just had one more stop to make...

We couldnt pass up some In and Out!  Come on!!!

Hailey Rose is Turning 4!

Our sweet neice Hailey Rose is turning 4 this week!  We went to her Princess Pary at the park this past Sunday.  She had a bright pink princess cake, opened lots of fun presents, and played on the playgound.  It was a gorgeous day for our little Princess's special day!
